As in previous years, this year we are again not sending our Christmas greetings by post in favor of a donation to the children's hospice of Central Germany.
For the first time we are also supporting the local motorsports club "MSC Kali Bad Salzungen" with a donation. Motocross sport has a long tradition in the Bad Salzungen / Eisenach area. MC Kali Merkers, founded on May 7, 1955, has been the organizer of national and international races for over 30 years. From 1956 to 1989 he held many world and European championships on the legendary “Alte Warth” racetrack near Gumpelstadt, which with its unique route profile, its wonderful location and natural beauty was one of the most beautiful routes in Europe. When racing events were no longer permitted here for nature conservation reasons, the club dissolved in 1990. However, the interest in targeted motor sport activity remained great among the young people in the district. On February 15, 1992, a new club was founded with the MSC Kali Bad Salzungen e.V. The race track in Bad Salzungen is also the scene of spectacular races several times a year in front of the panorama of the Thuringian Forest. The route also serves as a training route for many drivers from near and far, as it is very varied and demanding. Daniel Köhler has been a member of the club's board since 2019 and was an active motocross rider himself in the 1990s.
